THE DETAILS
There isn’t a set session length—and that’s intentional.I don’t sell blocks of time or build sessions around a clock. We shoot until we have what we came to create. Some sessions come together quickly; others need more time. While most of my sessions run at leasat 90 minutes, that isn’t a promise, minimum, or deadline. This approach does require trust in the process. If you’re looking for a photographer who can tell you exactly when we’ll be finished before we’ve even started, I’m probably not the right fit. I don’t rush the work to meet an arbitrary stopping point, and I ask the same patience from the people I photograph.Once we begin, the goal is the work—not getting to the end of the session.I’d rather follow the work than watch the clock.
Not at all. Come with a complete concept, a loose idea, or simply the desire to create something different. We’ll develop the direction together—location, wardrobe, lighting, movement and the overall feel of the session.
Whatever helps tell the story. Depending on the session, that might mean uniforms, dancewear, streetwear or something completely unexpected. Wardrobe is part of the planning process, and we’ll work through it beforehand. I require a minimum of 2 wardrobes to book a commission. Every wardrobe change (up to 6) adds another color to my creatice process.
Absolutely. When multiple looks make sense for the concept, we create them. I require a minimum of 2 wardrobes to book a commission and welcome my clients to bring a maximun of 6 wardrobes. I'm painting a picture with a camera and your wardrobes are like the paint. The more colors or in this case wardrobes I have to work with, the better the painting.
I don’t promise a specific number of photographs. Every finished image has to earn its place in the collection. I would rather deliver a smaller body of exceptional work than add filler simply to reach a number.
MC Performance Studio retains copyright to the photographs. Your specific usage rights depend on the commission and are established before the shoot, particularly for teams, studios and commercial/promotional work.
I go through everything we created and select the strongest photographs for finishing. Each chosen image is edited individually and delivered as part of a curated collection—no filler added simply to make the gallery larger.
Yes. But I only accept a limited number of individual athletic organizations including dance studios, teams and creative commissions. Team work can range from dramatic individual portraits and media-day imagery to larger creative projects including cheer competitions and recitals.
Yes. While MC Performance Studio is based in Massachusetts, travel is available for the right individual, team, studio and creative commissions. Travel requirements and any associated costs are discussed before booking.
